The choice for an “always right” (solar-powered, atomic time synchronized) dress timepiece has, up to now, been somewhat limited. Apart from the Japan-only Seiko Brightz, the only timekeeperes in this space have been from Casio (and their Oceanus brand). The Casio timepiecees that fit the technical specs (e.g. G-Shock GW-2500BD) can’t really be classed as dress watcheses, and the Oceanus watcheses (like the OCW-S1000 “Manta”) are expensive and have limited availability (indeed, Casio in the UK has abandoned the Oceanus brand). But now Citizen has entered the stage together with the Chrono-Time AT – the first timepiece using the new Citizen H610 caliber.
Fast forward to the present, and Citizen is now one of my favorite brands. Since June of 2006, we’ve written 11 articles on Citizen wrist watches, and I anticipate that the pace will increase. Every year, Citizen is stepping up their game and releasing more and more timepiecees that are grabbing our attention. Although I’m still a diehard Japanese-market Casio G-Shock fan, I now regard Citizen watcheses along with the exact same level of respect.

Tsovet is a relatively new watch brand on the scene founded in 2008 by David Bonaventura. Tsovet get their inspiration from the old Russian watches of the mid 1900s. While they really don’t look much like these watches you can see small queues from them. Bulky and prominent looks are very much on trend and Tsovet designer watches capture this perfectly with features such as large cases, sleek round dials, prominent numbered time markers and chic leather straps, all of which are key watch trends heading into 2010.
Tsovet is less than three years old at this point, it’s a California-based brand a noticeably nd already producing some really nice designer watches. The design and build quality were exactly what I was looking for in a daily use watch, plus the price of 0 for something of such high standard is great.I have to admit I was a little alarmed after purchasing this that I wouldn’t like the thinness of the band. Speaking of Dials, I’ve seen some dials that used zero-prefixed numerals for double digits all the way around; this is the first I’ve seen to abbreviate the ten. Nice dial detail – notice the stamped logo, model and depth rating in the Tsovet swiss watches. Very Subtle. Swiss made. The 48mm case wears comfortably, and therefore the destro crown keeps it from digging into the wrist. It’s a creaky sounding Italian Calf Leather that so far has held up well to a few months of use. Over all though, I have to say that I am very, very happy with my Tsovet purchase.
